Job Title: Project Co-Ordinator
Working For: British Future & New Horizons in British Islam
Location: London
Salary: £35,000

Job Details
The post-holder will lead a 14 month (fixed-term) project highlighting the contribution of Muslim soldiers to the British war effort in The First World War. You will ensure the project is completed on time and within budget, that the project's objectives are met and that everyone engaged in delivering different parts of the project, fulfils their obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Taking lead responsibility, working to the Director, on execution of the project objectives. There will be opportunities to have input into decisions about how to operationalise and prioritise the agreed objectives and how to best implement all aspects of the project.
• Representing the project, and the New Horizons in British Islam/British Future partnership as appropriate, to all outside project stakeholders. You will be the primary externally facing staff member working on the project.
• Working with organisations and groups to deliver the project in the 4 chosen locations - Bradford, Belfast, Leeds and a Nationally-significant project – and overseeing the overall delivery of the project.
• Acting, with the participants and partner organisations, as a public champion and advocate of the project and its findings.
• Working to share the content and lessons from the project with relevant stakeholders and public audiences, with a particular focus on finding effective ways to encourage further individuals and groups to engage with the heritage of the First World War, and the Commonwealth, multi-faith and British Muslim contribution to this, beyond the life scale of the project.
• Organising the various professionals and partners working with us in different project locations.
• Working with specialists and sub-contractors to maintain the project website.
• Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing to make sure the project remains in budget.
• One fifth of the post-holder’s time would be used to contribute to broader British Future activity on relevant identity and integration themes - including facilitating networks with Muslim and non-Muslim civic society voices, engaging current and potential funders and other stakeholders, and contributing to public activities on contemporary integration debates.
