Job Duties:
Ensuring overall safety and well being of the children.
Proving a caring and stimulating environment for the children.
Recruitment and induction of new staff in conjunction with the committee.
Supervising staff on a day to day basis
Hold regular staff meetings and appraisals.
Keep up-to-date records to do with the daily running of the Playgroup as required by social services and department of education.
Attend committee meetings and up date the committee on the progress of the playgroup.
Organising and taking part in special events and group outings.
Liaising with other relevant professionals.
Ensuring the implementation of the written policies and procedures of the group.
Attending to any other reasonable duties relevant to the post.
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
NVQ level 5 or working towards (Early Years Care and Education) or equivalent.
Experience of working in an early years setting 2-5 years in a paid capacity.
Leadership skills.
Ability to plan and organise.
Ability to record and pass on information accurately.
Able to recognise and identify problems and deal with conflict.
Able to lift children and equipment when required.
Willingness to attend evening meetings and training.
Observation and record keeping skills.
Enjoy working with children.
Understand the importance of parental involvement.

Desirable:
BA (Early childhood studies) degree or NVQ Level 5 (Early Years Care and Education).
Relevant training in management of early years settings and/ or observation and record keeping.
Ability to cope with many different roles and responsibilities.
Self-confidence and the ability to relate well to outside agencies and professionals.
