Our client is very customer focused and put their customer’s financial responsibility first, before a potential sale. As they want to make sure that no matter what a customer’s financial past, they care for their customer’s future. Our client is an award winning financial services company that offers vehicle finance to those who have been declined by the high-street lenders.
Office based staff will carry out ‘over the phone’ vehicle finance applications, assessing each application on its own merit and affordability rather than a computer credit score. They will look to complete a pre-approved vehicle finance application over the phone, based on visual confirmation of documentation. New vacancies of Part Time Credit / Loans Assessors have been generated in and around the City Centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. The positions are permanent.
You will be expected to attend appointments at vehicle dealerships where the application was taken. The Credit / Loan Assessors position carries a high level of responsibility, investigation and eye for detail.
You will need to be able to comprehensively review all documentation that the customer has been told bring with them to the application interview, so that each document can be physically verified that it is genuine and confirms what the phone based agent has been told.
You will need to carry out a financial review to assess the customers’ income to outgoings, to make sure what was stated over the phone tallies up, as well as making sure the finance agreement is affordable to the customer.
If there are any discrepancies, you will need to investigate further to find out why they were not disclosed and to reassess the application for affordability.
You must be able to provide customers with formal quotes and provide Hire Purchase Agreement documentation as well as ensuring that customers are fully aware of the proofs they need to bring and their importance.
You will need to be confident taking the customer through all the aspects of the Hire Purchase Agreement and checking signature ensuring documentation is thoroughly checked before leaving the customer.
You will need to be able to pick up on potential fraudulent activity or be aware that information may be hidden from you or the application.
You need to have a valid driving license and willing travel up to 50 miles to vehicle dealerships to carry out the face to face application interviews.
You will need to be able to re-enforce your dealer relationships and ensure their issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
You will be required to follow up and resolve any deals that have been suspended as a priority.
Finally, you must be able to handle any customer and dealer complaints effectively, to ensure a positive outcome.
These are part time positions working 24 hours per week. Thursday to Friday between 8:00 to 20:00, Saturday 10:00 to 18:00. The roles are focused on these working days, as these are days when most cars are sold through the Dealerships.

Knowledge and Skills:
As a Credit / Loans Assessor you must have a good standard of both written and spoken English and Math’s at GCSE level C or above.
You must have an ability to assess financial paperwork, income and outgoings, to gage affordability.
You must have some investigatory / financial services experience, having worked within a FCA regulated role.
You must be a well organised individual with excellent time management.
You must be able to demonstrate an ability to offer great customer service in a face to face environment, in a busy work environment.
The Credit / Loans Assessor basic salary is £12,600 per annum based on a 24 hour working week as detailed above. Additional benefits are car allowance (£2k pro rata), mileage (26p per mile) and a monthly performance bonus (once 3 month probation has been achieved).
